An innovative fine arts museum for children, Arizona Museum for Youth opens the world of art to kids through a rotating array of exhibits and interactive activities. Focused on children ages 12 and under, the museum exhibits artwork from a vast range of media, and also offers numerous creative classes and workshops, allowing children to create art using paint, food, snow, paper-mache, sand and other innovative materials. Artville, a creative play space for kids ages four and under, allows tots to create art in a special studio, harvest velcro vegetables from a colorful felt garden, and pretend to prepare meals in a kid-size kitchen. Housed in a refurbished grocery store, the museum is located in Mesa, just northwest of Mesa Arts Center.
